 House of the Dragon Trivia

  • Dragon Extravaganza: Expect to see many more dragons than Daenerys' three in Game of Thrones. House of the Dragon features a much larger number of these fire-breathing creatures.
  • Inspired by History: The show's core conflict, a bloody civil war for succession, draws inspiration from the real-life English Anarchy of the 12th century.
  • High Budget: Each episode boasts a hefty price tag of nearly $20 million, demonstrating HBO's commitment to the series' quality.
  • George R.R. Martin Back in the Saddle: Unlike the later seasons of Game of Thrones, author George R.R. Martin is more involved with House of the Dragon, potentially leading to a closer adaptation of his vision.
  • A Different Look at Women: The show promises a stronger portrayal of female characters compared to Game of Thrones, with Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen vying for the throne and challenging Westerosi norms.
