Honestly the fact that all these races in the world of one piece can mix with each other and generate fertile offspring makes me think that "Race" is an in-universe agenda driven misnomer and that in reality they're all the same species, akin to our world's Ethnicities. Oda even went out of his way to make it clear that they share the same blood.
Not too many surprises here with ya-san's identity, but this fight for the key should be fun.

What I did find interesting is that the summoning circles are a known entity, at least in theory. And that we got confirmation that races like buccaneers are hybrids which I think will come into play with why they are so hated by the world government. Their treatment is vindictive, even moreso than how the celestial dragons treat the other slaves.
I am still betting joyboy was a buccaneer, which explains the big hat. And the wg is wary of the giants and wants to make them more peaceful or willing to play along with the game to avoid another like joyboy rising down the line.
He probably knows rayleigh trained luffy. Considering he has actually traveled outside of elbaf recently, he would've had to stop by sabaody and probably caught up with rayleigh.
