Suika

Suika (スイカ) is a descendant of modern humans and an inhabitant of Ishigami village. She tends to wear a helmet made from a melon rind to help her see better because she has a disease called "blurry sickness" or in modern terms nearsighted. Senku created a pair of glasses in her helmet to help her eyesight. She wears a black dress that covers her whole body and has a rope attached to her neck like a necklace and it is common for her tribe to wear them most especially for girls. She is a caring inquisitive individual with a talent for spying. She seems rather shy mostly because people saw her as weird for wearing a watermelon over her head (revealed to be because she had bad eyesight and looking through the watermelon allowed her to see a little better due to the concave effect). She has since become one of his closest allies. She is moved when Senku does not ask her about her pumpkin she wears or call her weird for wearing it (though it was most likely because he does not care). However, once Senku makes glasses for her using the pumpkin head, she is grateful for him fixing her bad eyesight and declines to get more "normal practical" glasses, opting to keep her watermelon head. She is shown to be brave, as she purposely leads The empire of Might troops away from the village by using herself as bait.

She also enjoys helping Senku and her friends, such as when he needs volunteers to spin thread, she immediately volunteers herself and the other kids, stating she would prove they could be useful. As a child, she is curious and enjoys exploring. She also occasionally doesn't understand some of the more "adult" topics discussed such as wondering what the village sisters mean when they say boyfriend or wondering what a harem is. Nonetheless, she has proven intelligent as she managed to understand Gen's path and his message based on some flowers he left behind). Similarly, she is observant enough to understand that Kinro had the same bad eyesight problem she had after watching him fight for only a few minutes. Possibly due to her lonely childhood being ostracized for wearing a pumpkin head, she is quick to make friends and is very friendly and kind. She immediately became friends with Mirai and stated how happy she was to have a female friend her age. She also wants to be of help to others and dislikes it when she can't help others. She seems fond of animals, having a pet dog named chalk and she bonds with a pig Francois planned to use as an entree which Senku and Francois relented and allowed her to keep it as a pet, to her joy. Since Suika had the blurry eye disease (nearsightedness), she constantly scrunched up her face in an attempt to see things. That ended up scaring people, so she started to wear her trademark melon helmet. Suika was trusted by Senku and his friends to let her go on scouting. She was able to roll herself inside the melon hat, allowing her to recon deep into enemy territory undetected. Suika was able to slip past through hostile units when she attempts to retrieve the mobile lab from Perseus after the whole crew, save from Ginro and Suika are petrified by an unknown opponent. She was highly dependable when it comes to scouting. Plot

Kaseki

Kaseki (カセキ) is an old man artisan and an expert craftsman, who resides in the village. Kaseki is a bald, short and muscular old man with a large white beard. Every time he was fired up, however, his clothes always ripped apart. Kaseki is an honest old man who takes prides in his work as an artisan. He remains civil on most occasions unless provoked. He is shown to be untrusting of outsiders, at first refusing to help Senku. He only agreed after being tempted by the glass that Senku was able to make (but not form well due to lack of technique). Due to his love of crafting, he immediately developed interest and learned instantly how to properly form the glass into flasks for Senku, despite having never once seen glass or been taught any technique. As a craftsman, he is a genius surpassing even modern craftsmen, managing to help Senku make several of the flasks and other things he needs. He even learns to do blacksmithing which only further helps Senku's goals. Despite continually helping Senku during the Ruri illness arc, he admits he still didn't fully trust him when even Kinro and Ginro had started to trust him. It takes a while before he fully becomes loyal to Senku as an ally and acknowledges him as a close friend.

He admits that when he was young due to his village valuing strength he was not looked upon well by his tribe as he focused more on crafting and couldn't relate to others. He is genuinely moved when Chrome refers to Senku, Kaseki, and himself as close friends. When Senku embarks on his labor intensive projects, he becomes excited and his clothes rip off changing his form from a small meek old man to a powerful muscular old man. As the oldest in Senku's main group of friends, he tends to be rather wise, imparting wisdom on others and is not ashamed or afraid to admit his shortcomings and weaknesses. Despite his pride and honesty, Kaseki has proven to have quite the perverted side of him. Two examples is how he seeks praise for his work, specifically from women and almost immediately concluding Chrome tying him up as a form of "bondage" antics. Kaseki is an artisan with sixty years of experience under his belt. He craftsman much of the architecture of the village including the drawbridges. He also made the shield for Kohaku's father Kokuyo when he won the village games, which was given to Kohaku as a gift. Along with Chrome, Kaseki was pretty much the only one in Ishigami Village with any real scientific knowledge. Kaseki is artisan who is very proficient at what he does. Kaseki has shown to complete tasks that even Senku could not, like shaping glass. Kaseki is also a fast learner as seen when he easily learned how to make Japanese swords. Just like the rest of the village, Kaseki is a primitive human. Kaseki is also a descendant of Byakuya Ishigami and his crew. In his youth Kaseki loved crafting all manner of creation however that made the other villagers look at him with disdain in response Kaseki built the Bridges that connect the Ishigami village and started creating the shields for the tribe.

Ruri

Ruri (ルリ) is Kohaku's older sister and the daughter of Kokuyo, she is also a priestess in Ishigami village. Ruri is similar to Kohaku in appearance but has longer hair and a more hourglass-shaped body. She wears a black sundress and a piece of rope around her neck. Ruri was first introduced as a frail, ill woman. When she learned of Senku's presence in the village, she showed signs of natural curiosity and a keen memory, his name managing to stir up memories of one of Ishigami Village's stories. While appearing feminine, in reality she is as match a tomboy as Kohaku, immediately running around the village after making a full recovery from her illness with Senku's help. She is kind, caring and loving towards her friends and family.

She has a rather submissive quiet nature stating she was fine with marrying whoever won the village tournament (though this could possibly be because she resigned herself to her fate and short life attributed to her disease). However, once she is cured of her disease, she is shown to be more optimistic and positive though still quiet and demure. She has a kind gentle demeanor and appears more feminine than her sister in some aspects (though can be quite a tomboy as well). She is childhood friends with Chrome who has strong feelings for her. Ruri might share some of Kohaku's athletic prowess, as her first instinct when cured is to sprint off into a field at high speeds. She is very observant, as she was able to tell Kohaku was in a dangerous situation, simply because her hair knot was different, most wouldn't have noticed this. Ruri was born to the village chief in Ishigami Village at some point in time. She eventually became extremely sick around her 18th birthday. Kohaku manages to sustain her life using hot water that she gathers every day to slow down the disease progression.

Ginro

Ginro (銀狼 Ginrō) is Kinro's brother, and one of the village guards. He starts hanging around Senku during his stay in the village and gets roped into the plan to make Ruri antibiotics. Ginro is shorter and scrawnier than his brother. He has short blonde hair and green eyes. Ginro wears a karate gi-like uniform and belt. He carries his spear wherever he goes. He appears to be feminine looking and with a higher pitch voice as he was able to disguise himself as a convincing girl and join the tribe harem in the Treasure island to infiltrate the tribe and find the formula to petrification. Ginro is the coward of the two guard brothers, albeit very full of himself and somewhat selfish. He's easily distracted by shiny things and Senku's antics, which ends with him usually working to further the scientists schemes. He is much more sincere in his cowardice and is rather open about his feelings. For example, he considered the possibility of having everyone run away from the village to avoid a fight with the Empire of Might (though after Kohaku points out that such an idea would be bad as only a scum bag would consider it as the elderly and children wouldn't be able to keep up he claims he didn't think of such an idea). There are two main sides to him: a kinder gentler side that cares for his friends and family and a more scummy side to himself.

There are times when his scummy meddling side wins over his nicer side such as when he enters the village tournament to determine who would be village chief and wed Ruri. While he initially does so to protect Ruri fro Magma, once he learns she is satisfied with marrying whoever wins (most likely a lie in part to Ruri's kind and submissive nature) Kinro immediately decides to win so he can be chief and order people around, have ramen everyday, give everyone a harem, and be a "good chief" in his own words. The villagers are so disturbed that when he loses to Senku they immediately cheer despite the fact they do not approve of Senku as an outsider. Similarly, when the Perseus sets sail, he refuses to board for fear of such a dangerous journey though pretends to swims after the ship in order to impress some girls. In addition, he tends to enjoy meddling in Chrome and Ruri's relationship. At one point, in an extra, he even suggest that he, Chrome, Kinro and Senku attack Kohaku together to see who is stronger and claims it is "fair" since Kohaku is much stronger than all of them individually (though he had a fair point). Ginro shows regret for his cowardice often and genuinely cares about his friends, to the point where he runs off to help Senku and Chrome in a dangerous situation where they were attempting to acquire sulfur from Sulfurina, a natural sulfur spring where the gas is poisonous to breathe in. Similarly, he refuses to cut the bridge from the village to the outside despite doing so would protect their village from Hyoga's forces, because his brother Kinro would have to be sacrificed. Recently, when his brother faces the prospect of being petrified, Ginro manages to overcome his fear to protect his brother with help from Suika. This proves that despite having a scummy cowardly side, he will ultimately endure any tough situation to protect his friends and family.

He can be somewhat lazy as he tends to slack off during his duties as a guard. He often complains when he and Kinro often have to lend man power to Senku's inventions which physically exhaust them (though considering how arduous and demanding said tasks are) and celebrated alongside Kinro when Senku built a power plant that would decrease their work. He also shows a perverted side, imagining what it would be like to marry Ruri and also showing interest when Senku tries to learn more about Homura, thinking Senku was discussing what type of woman he likes. He showed interest in the use of an x ray to peek under women's clothes. Similarly, he enjoys showing off particularly in front of cute girls, as he imagined himself looking cool while facing off during the Village Tournament though in reality was beaten badly before wining. He similarly swam to the Perseus to make it look like he was brave and wanted to join his friends on their dangerous journey to the outside world when in reality he believed he would not be able to reach the ship and would return to the island looking like a hero and getting several girls to like him. Ginro does not appear to be physically strong by any means; he can, however, support up to at least Chrome's weight as seen when he managed to keep him held up by his spear, albeit with great difficulty. He manages to defeat Agro, though received heavy injuries in the process.

Kinro

Kinro (金狼 Kinrō) is the elder brother of Ginro and the son of Tetsuken and Shirogane. Originally serving as the guard of Ishigami Village along with Ginro, he quickly joins Senku as a member of the Kingdom of Science. Kinro is a muscular young man of average height. He has a scar on the right side of his face and a cluster of long hair that hangs between his eyes. He wears a sleeveless karate gi-like uniform with a rope belt. On his back, he wears a buckler emblazoned with the village's star pattern. After the tournament to determine the chief of Ishigami Village, Kinro begins wearing a pair of glasses to correct his nearsightedness. Kinro is the stern half of the two guard brothers. He takes his job seriously and is not easily distracted. He's dedicated to upholding the rules, refusing Senku's entry into the village, despite him saving Kohaku's life.

When during the village tournament he uses glasses made by Senku to defeat Magma, he forfeits the match, feeling as though he unfairly cheated. Though initially suspicious of Senku, he becomes a loyal member of the Kingdom of Science, vouching for Senku to the rest of the village. Despite his serious temperament, Kinro often acts emotionally. Senku successfully bribes Kinro into letting him pass by gilding his spearhead; afterwards, Kinro shows a strong emotional attachment to the spear. He often gets annoyed and worn out by Senku's experiments at his expense. After Senku creates a generator that eases his work, Kinro is excited despite his normal disdain for laziness. Prideful to a fault, he refuses to disclose his "blurry eye disease" even though it puts him at a severe disadvantage in combat. After being frightened by Senku's soap bubbles, he claims that he was merely reactly cautiously to the unknown. As a member of the Kingdom of Science, he learns to overcome some of his stubbornness. Initially dismissing arithmetic as unnecessary and impractical for combat, he is quick to join Senku's literacy school, telling Ginro that learning to write is an increasingly important part of communication. Kinro is one of the physically strongest members of Ishigami Village, rivaled only by Magma and Kohaku. Kinro wields a spear and a buckler. For a time, the spearhead was gilded (as a bribe from Senku in order to let him into the village). After the village tournament, he also wears a pair of glasses. Kinro was born into Ishigami Village and at some point took up the role as guard with his brother.

Gen Asagiri

Gen Asagiri (あさぎりゲン Asagiri Gen) is an enemy turned ally of Senku. Originally de-petrified by Tsukasa Shishio, he was sent to find Senku, only to defect to the Kingdom of Science. Asagiri appears to be an average high school-aged male, close to Senku in height. He has blonde hair, although the left half of it, as well as his fringe, is blue. His eyes are baggy and his scar from de-petrification running down his left eye in an angled line. He wears an overcoat over a yukata and lacks proper footwear. Asagiri is somewhat full of himself and his abilities, taking pride in his status as a magician and a mentalist/psychologist, along with his knowledge of the human psyche. He is outwardly stoic, staying calm even when at spearpoint during his entrance in Ishigami Village. However, this facade seems easily broken through, as seen at his shock when Senku addresses him by name. Despite this, he is revealed to be extremely paranoid (though rightfully so), hiding multiple bags of blood in his clothes in the event he is attacked. He has shown signs of perversion, considering sticking by Tsukasa for the purpose of having a harem and hitting on Kohaku. Regardless, Gen is rather quirky and can often be seen speaking in Pig Latin. He tends to be lazy, self absorbed and perverted.

He also shows reluctance in participating in the manual labor involved in Senku's experiments (though given how arduous the labor is it is understandable). In addition, as stated by Kohaku in his introduction, he is perfectly capable of lying without a hint of stress or change in expression. While not nearly as intelligent in terms of science compared to Senku, he proves to be his equal and one of his most vital allies due to his ability to understand the human psyche and manipulate people through lies in contrast to Senku's more honest nature. He uses his abilities to promote cooperation and enthusiasm, motivate allies, conduct negotiations and outsmart enemies. He tends to shift between acting as a ditzy airhead when it suits him (such as to avoid work or going into battle) and an intelligent manipulator. he is confident and is shown to have nerves of steel even in the face of death. He is a proud turncoat, openly offering to lie to Tsukasa about Senku's death when he sees his kiln. Gen favors being on the "winning side", although he is also easily swayed by Senku promising him something that appeals to his personal interest.

Despite this, he later admits to Senku that he was most likely already won over by Senku's intelligence and ability to move mankind forward. He proves to be loyal to Senku and uses his abilities to help further Senku's plans usually by manipulating people such as promising Minami a special present to get her to relinquish the last bit of depetrification potion she had to revive Francois and similarly tricking Ryusei into paying a ridiculous amount of money to board the hot air balloon (though they needed him to board due to his excellent piloting skills). He shows a surprisingly strong will and level of endurance, being able to survive a death attack from Magma with proper preparation and still go to the Empire of Might gravely injured to report Senku's death. He was also barely able to keep up with Francois walking to the Ishigami village two days straight (a rather difficult feat without food, water or shoes). He is capable of genuine kindness, at one point creating a telescope as a surprise birthday present for Senku. He also seems to get along decently well with Suika, a child. He seems to not hold grudges, as he is able to work with Magma and manipulate him without fear, despite Magma having once attempted to murder him. On a side note, he has frequently stated his favorite food is cola and that he cannot handle alcohol. Gen Asagiri was a famous magician making a TV special prior to being encased in stone thousands of years prior to the events of Dr. Stone. He once met with Tsukasa during an appearance on a psychological magic show.

Chrome

Chrome (クロム, Kuromu) is the sorcerer (eventually scientist) of Ishigami Village and Senku's friend. Originally a rival, he grew close to Senku as the depetrified human taught him the art of science. Chrome is an average-sized young man with brown eyes and spikey, light-brown hair with a rope tied around his head like a headband. He sports a blue. Chrome is a young man of average height and possesses a rather frail build. He has spikey, light-brown hair that he keeps out of his eyes with a rope-like headband. His usual outfit consists of a short-sleeved, dark blue shirt, matching pants, a rope belt, and sachels that contain materials he's collected. Sometimes he will also dawn a cape that matches the color of his outfit as well. Chrome is a high energy person with a lot of passion and curiosity. He is genuinely interested in science, although at first he only knows it as a sorcery. Chrome is confident in his intellect, enough so to go toe to toe with Senku despite getting destroyed in a battle of wits. Chrome cares little about the age when it comes to friendships, as he considers Kasaki as one of his greatest friends even though he's more than 50 years older than Chrome. He also has a tendency to refer to something as "bad" when he thinks it is cool or amazing. Chrome has a deep love of science, though he admits his expertise and knowledge lies mainly in exploration, particularly pertaining to rocks and minerals and gathering them.

He even becomes offended when Ryuusei refers to himself as a pro adventurer while he refers to Chrome as an amateur. He is loyal to his friends and while lacking in physical abilities (quite similarly to Senku) he is still able to think of clever solutions out of dangerous situations. Chrome is also exceedingly brave and loyal, managing to withstand Tsukasa's torture and death threats and refusing to speak about Ishigami Village or the progress of Senku's inventions. In addition, while the normal loudmouth, he knows when to keep his mouth shut. He loves science and in many ways is an accomplished scientist in his own right, managing to create chemical reactions from the rocks he collected through frequent trial and error (reactions which were only made known in the seventeenth century) despite never knowing this knowledge beforehand and before Senku's arrival. In addition, he is naturally inquisitive and loves helping make inventions. When he was left out of making the automobile, he was notably disheartened. When he managed to ride a hot air balloon for the first time, he was both amazed and frustrated by the progress of the modern era prior to petrification and wanted to learn more of the world. Also in spite of his naivety when it comes to the outside world, he is shown to be wary of those he distrusts, evident when he did not trust him and Senku being alone in a cave with Magma as he believed Magma would attempt to murder them.

Chrome is selfless especially when it comes to his friends, as he entered the village tournament that would determine Ruri's husband so Magma would not win (as he would ensure she did not survive her illness) and knew Kinro or Ginro would have better chances of winning but did not mind who married her so long as she would be cured. He has strong feelings for Ruri but as stated by Kohaku he doesn't seem aware of his own feelings. Though at first threatened by the arrival of Senku, another "sorcerer", the two quickly become close friends due to their mutual love of science and becomes Senku's main ally and confidant in Ishigami village (aside from Gen) when it comes to their plans and inventions as the three often use their science and manipulation to find ways of creating a bloodless war against Tsukasa's Might of Empire and later to go against the Whyman. Compared to the rest of Ishigami Village, Chrome is rather intelligent and curious. He was labeled as the village sorcerer due to his ability to use the materials around the village for "magic". He also has slightly-above average skill in arithmetic, only considered an expert at it due to no one knowing better. It's confirmed by Riichiro Inagaki that Chrome would have high grades and tie with Tsukasa in a school setting. While no match for the likes of Kohaku, Chrome does possess some skills in combat and managed to hold his own against Mantle. He also managed to pole vault his way around Tsukasa's traps (as he often pole vaults to gather his materials). Tsukasa himself noted that if he went on a voyage he would more likely choose Chrome or Senku despite Senku's superior intellect because Chrome seems to be more physically fit and stronger. Since he was young, Chrome has always enjoyed collecting things and would store them in a tower. He would mix, smash, and burn the things he found and labeled any reactions as sorcery.

Kohaku

Kohaku is a young girl and a descendant of modern humans. Ruri's younger sister. Kohaku is a young girl with a delicate face and tied-up blonde hair. When her hair is untied, it is shown to be massive cowlicks. Her clothing consists of a black dress(navy blue in the anime) and uniquely shaped stone sandals. Tsukasa remarks her appearance as half American-Japanese, implying that she's the descendant of Lillian and Byakuya. Kohaku is a tomboy who excels at fighting, hunting, and general survival skills. She has little interest in more stereotypical feminine activities and has little knowledge about them. As a hunter, she has keen instincts, being able to tell when someone is a threat and be on high alert, reacting instantly. In addition, she seems to be a good judge of character, being able to tell that Gen was the kind of person who could lie without batting an eye and that in spite of claiming to only work for benefits, is merely too prideful to admit his loyalty and friendship with Senku. She similarly understood that Chrome was in love with Ruri but hadn't realized his own feelings, was able to read Senku's personality to an extent (including his use of science to "bait" people to his side), and accurately predict Ryusui's response to being revived a second time. While she is very tomboyish, she is insulted when people call her a gorilla or lioness (though admits she prefers being called a lioness over a gorilla). The only person to get away with this without being hit by her is Senku, whose intelligence, charisma, and innate kindness she deeply respects. Similar to Senku, she doesn't seem interested in romance, previously claiming to have fallen for Senku when she meant that she found him interesting as a person.

However, she has shown to hate shallow or selfish men, instantly hating Gen for wanting to switch to Senku's side due to the benefits and prefers gentlemen like Senku. She's repeatedly impressed by Senku's scientific creations, even though it takes her a while to accept that it's not simply magic. However, she has a short temper that causes her to be angered easily at the slightest insult to herself or her friends. She can be emotional and impulsive, allowing her feelings to get in the way of her rationality and cause her to act rashly without thinking of the consequences. She cares deeply about her older sister Ruri and tried to alleviate her chronic illness no matter how physically demanding the task. As she didn't want her sister to be married off to the winner of her village's tournament, she strove to become Ishigami Village's strongest fighter. This care extends to everyone she considers her friends. She was extremely angered to see the Treasure Island tribesmen petrify her friends, shatter their stone bodies, and throw them in the ocean. She is very kind having attacked Tsukasa for murdering Senku whom she considered a gentleman for his actions in saving his friend Yuzuriha, despite not knowing the two at the time. She also demonstrates a mildly mischievous personality, teasing Chrome about his feelings for Ruri and if he would date her instead since they looked alike. Kohaku appears to be well known in her village due to her combative abilities, as both Kinro and Ginro were afraid of her. Tsukasa, a world class fighter, stated that she would have been famous for her fighting abilities back in the Pre-Petrifaction world. Kohaku is very fast and agile, being able to attack with her knives and legs swiftly. Her strength and endurance are also remarkable, being able to carry a heavy pot filled with hot water on a daily basis.

She is also fast enough to dodge a bolt of lightning. Chrome referenced her as one of the few members in her village with superhuman strength, while also being very nimble and agile. She is incredibly proficient in close-quarters combat and was able to easily stop an attack from Kinro and Ginro with her quick reflexes. Kohaku also possesses incredible eyesight, being able to spot Tsukasa and Senku from afar. Master Hunter Kohaku was an excellent Master Hunter. She can easily catch boar with ease when Francois, Ryusui's butler is looking for a boar to farm and try to catch it using a trap. She's one of the most reliable people when it comes to hunting. Additionally, her extraordinary eyesight allows her to spot oil fields from an aerial photograph. While definitely not as smart or skilled as Chrome or Kaseki, she proves to slowly be understanding of some of the science Senku demonstrates. She can be clever and quick on the uptake and demonstrated at least some ability to multiply in the Arithmetic Battle bonus though she is illiterate. In addition, during the Treasure Island arc, she showed the ability to understand the situation and act covertly to get Senku supplies and understand what was important to gather and give to Senku. Kohaku wields two primitive-looking knives and an orange-colored buckler. She appears to be very skilled in using those during combat. After forging a katana, she discards her dual knives and starts using the sword instead.

Tsukasa Shishio

Tsukasa Shishio (獅子王司 Shishiō Tsukasa) is the main antagonist of the first 82 chapters of Dr. Stone. His goal is to thin out the human population to create a new world without modern technology, saying that adults and how humanity evolved caused them to become evil. Despite his claims that no threat would come after Senku and Taiju, which proved ironic, Tsukasa became one of the biggest obstacles to Senku's Kingdom of Science and restoring humanity as a whole in general. Tsukasa is a tall man that is estimated to be somewhere around 6 feet 8 inches in comparison to the cast of characters and Boichi's commentary that he's the tallest out of the cast. His hair mimics chestnut brown and reaches his lower back along with amber eyes. Also to keep in mind, Tsukasa has androgynous features that blend the combination of masculine and feminine characteristics into an ambiguous form. This can be explained below: In Japanese culture, Bihaku (美白) is a Japanese term meaning "beautifully white". Senku compares Tsukasa’s eggshell skin tone to a "white lily-flower" in the official Viz English translation[2] because Tsukasa's skin is just that pale.  It's intriguing to note that Senkuu compares Tsukasa to that of a lily flower despite Tsukasa being a male; if his features weren't so blurred between the sexes, then Senku should've addressed his similarity to something like a white seashell or etc. It's interesting to note that back in Chapter 4, Senku accused Tsukasa of flirting with him because Tsukasa complimented Senku's ingenuity-- though Senku compliments Tsukasa's eggshell skin tone and compares it to a flower even though Tsukasa's a guy himself. Tsukasa also has elongated dark eyelashes, hair, and his face is rather slender than to be compared as chiseled and defined.

Even though his body is rather muscular because he is an MMA/UFC global athlete, averaging to be around 225 lbs to compete in the Heavyweight Division, his features remain ambiguous. He also wears his lion coat draped around his shoulders post chapter 26 almost mimicking a woman wearing a fur coat and scenes that imply Tsukasa's effeminate characteristics further in the manga are captured. Whether this is intentional or sleight of hand by Boichi and Riichiro Inagaki, Tsukasa's androgyny currently remains a mystery. He has three stone markings; one across his face that cuts across his right eye, another etched deep into his left one from the corner of his eyelid all the way down across his nose and ends at the bottom of his jaw on the right, and the other being stretched across from his left shoulder over his chest and stopping at his upper abdomen. After years of MMA fighting, Tsukasa gained permanently swollen knuckles found on his index finger, middle finger, and ring finger. Before humanity was petrified, Tsukasa had unruly hair he’s been growing out since he was little. Post-petrification, he’s kept remnants of stone on the tips of his hair and has a shaved undercut with a slit at the sides, complimenting his stone markings across his eyes. His initial outfit starts off with a red yukata made from a lion’s remains he ended up killing to protect Senku and Taiju. He used its pelt as a coat that he wore around or draped across his shoulders. He wears no shoes. After chapter 78, he wears a cream pelt shirt with his torn yukata as a skirt. Tsukasa is essentially violent but extremely careful and aware of his actions. He is a very kind, thoughtful, and polite man outside of his pessimistic ideals towards humanity. He offers help in the beginning to Senku and Taiju after they revive him and becomes their hunter for food, using his skills as a prominent athlete to aid them. It’s revealed later that Tsukasa plans to purge humanity and thinks Senku will go along with him, but instead Senku rejects him. After this point, Tsukasa becomes fairly determined in carrying out his plans even to the point of leaving their group. He’s confessed to Senku that he doesn’t care about anyone but himself, though in the latter half of the story it’s revealed that Tsukasa loves his sister Mirai more than anything in the world and that is where his resilience comes from, so he can save her. He also reveals that Senku could’ve been his first friend pre-petrification as to which Senku agrees. From this angle, we can assume Tsukasa shuts himself off from others and only focuses on saving his sister. He’s naturally withdrawn outside of his goals. He tends to hate humans who control and manipulate others. By his actions, it is possible to assume that Tsukasa hates any hierarchy or practice of power. His goal is to create a society without technological advancement and he uses any means to achieve that objective; creating his own empire modeled on his twisted views of humanity.

Though to note, there are many points in the story that explore Tsukasa's psychotic behavior. One instance is when he first breaks a stone statue and has no remorse, continuing to crush more in his wake. He particularly goes after older adults and elderly people, but specifically leaves children alone. This can be related to his personal background and history of being assaulted and abused by those in authority. He also ends up taking Yuzuriha hostage in order to gain the Revival Formula. Tsukasa also by no means wants to resort to fighting or killing but will do so if he feels pressured or his vision for humanity is at stake. This is seen when he ended up killing Senku after sharing a tender moment of wishing they could've met 3,700 years later. When he was younger, Tsukasa was picking out seashells on the beach to make a necklace for his sister Mirai because she wanted to be a mermaid princess like The Little Mermaid. It is unclear whether Tsukasa refers to the Danish fairytale version by author Hans Anderson, the Japanese film based off of this story with the protagonist named Marina, or the animated Disney film The Little Mermaid with the protagonist being Ariel. While choosing seashells for Mirai, an old drunk fisherman came and beat Tsukasa to the point his face was unrecognizable. The fisherman justifies his assault behind him owning a fishing permit in the area and Tsukasa was trespassing. After this event, Tsukasa's sister became clinically brain dead, and required constant life support. From then on, Tsukasa somehow managed to train and find his way to the MMA so he could support his sister's life and defend himself by all means. He ends on becoming a well known MMA fighter nicknamed the "Strongest Highschool Primate" in the combat sport. He becomes so famous that even Taiju, who doesn't watch TV, knows who he is.

Yuzuriha Ogawa

Yuzuriha Ogawa (小川杠 Ogawa Yuzuriha) is the love interest of Taiju Oki and a friend of Senku Ishigami. She was depetrified in 5739 AD. Yuzuriha is a young woman with brown hair, brown eyes, and a slim build. She has two noticeable petrification scars, both in the shape of spirals, located on her shoulder and neck. Before her petrification, Yuzuriha wears a standard High School Uniform. After her depetrification, she wears a white cloth dress that's spit at her sides and matching cloth shoes. Noticeably, Yuzuriha wears a white hairband that's vaguely shaped like wrap-around headphones, both before and after her petrification. Following an encounter with Tsukasa, her long hair is cut to a shoulder-length bob. Yuzuhira is a kind individual who tries to aid her friends and strangers alike in whatever ways she can. She usually uses her extensive crafting skills to help Senku carry out his inventions or reassemble destroyed petrified humans.

Like Taiju, she is fiercely loyal to Senku. As childhood friends, she understands Senku's abilities and potential and was even willing to sacrifice herself when she was being used as a hostage by Tsukasa to allow Senku to escape. While not explicitly stated, she seems to return Taiju's feelings but is waiting for him to make his official confession. She seems quiet and while not overly shy, is usually reserved. She tends to get nervous in dangerous or unpredictable situations but knows to keep her mind at the task at hand. In chapter 73, Senku refers to her as someone who wouldn't abandon what she was doing to make her own moves and when given a task, puts 100% of her attention and motivation towards it.

She is rather patient, showing great skill in carefully gathering the stone fragments of the statues Tsukasa destroyed and painstakingly putting them back together in the hopes of fixing the statues and giving the people a chance at revival. She is also used to listening to Senku's lectures on science (at one point managing to endure a 5 hour lecture on science from him). She seems at the very least smarter than Taiju because when Senku claimed to Nikki in an effort to get her to switch sides, through the telephone, that American forces were going to rescue them while Taiju believed it Yuzuriha was quick to understand the situation and that Senku was lying. She loves fashion and becomes intense when crafting clothes. Yuzuhira has extraordinary sewing capabilities as well as excellent handiwork as she is seen re-assembling the smashed stone statues with a form of primeval glue. She also makes fine leatherwork, which is then used as the flag for the Kingdom of Science. Later, she was able to create high-quality clothes and opened Yuzuriha's Department Store after Senku and the gang manage to discover cloth.

Taiju Oki

Taiju Oki (大木大樹 Ōki Taiju) is one of the protagonists of Dr. Stone. He was depetrified October 5, 5738 AD. Taiju is an outgoing, friendly, kind person. He's enthusiastic about performing even small tasks and a diligent worker. He is very determined when something is important to him. He tends to yell loudly and is enthusiastic regardless of the task so long as he proves useful. He is perseverant and determined. Depsite being emotional and expressive, he has great control of his temper, never losing his cool or acting impulsively. He is notably one of the kindest people in the series, refusing to murder Tsukasa and wanting to find peaceful solutions without murder or hurting others as evidenced by his pacifistic nature. He has a straightforward and honest nature, refusing to take a love potion Senku claimed would make him irresistible and stated he would confess to Yuzuriha on his own. In addition, he tends to easily trust others and believe in the good of others, believing Tsukasa to be a good person when they first met for wanting to eat the meat of a lion he killed as not doing so would be disrespectful of the lion's death. Evern after becoming enemies and witnessing him "murder" Senku, he shows no rage or anger despite greatly mourning his friend's "death" instead wishing Tsukasa a benign farewell.

He loves Yuzuriha, although he couldn't bring himself to confess his feelings for five years. It was his drive to finally tell her how he feels, that allowed Taiju to remain conscious during his several thousand-year petrification. Even after they are de petrified, he has not repeated the confession because he does not want her to feel pressured to answer his feelings when he believed they were some of the only few humans remaining. He also refused to de petrify her until after clothing her, proving to be a gentleman and considerate of the feelings of others. He is a loyal friend and person to those he cares for, placing great trust in Senku and being deeply loyal to Yuzuriya. He greatly admires his best friend Senku, even though he only has a limited understanding of scientific practices. He gets easily impressed by Senku's inventions and He assists Senku with his experiments by providing the manpower necessary for them. Despite his massive strength, he is a pacfist who refuses to fight others because he does not want to hurt others.

He once even offers to let Tsukasa smack him until he is satisfied in the hopes of deterring him from killing Senku. Nonetheless, he has the endurance and patience to complete any task no matter how arduous. While considered book dumb and not good with science, it is shown that he is capable of finding mundane solutions without science and can apply the science and knowledge Senku imparts on him and use it to his advantage such as remembering Senku state shells were good for upgrading soil for farming and applying it to his fields, which allowed it to grow in contrast to Yo's and Magma's fields. He can be resourceful and also has a good memory, managing to remember that in the past Senku did not have the habit of cracking his neck and figuring out it was a code from Senku. He also knows his limitations and what he is good and not good at without overestimating himself. Taiju possesses an extremely sturdy body, something his friend Senku vouches for him. He is the first human to be able to withstand a kick from Tsukasa without losing consciousness. He also possesses immense stamina, able to cross 80 kilometers in 5 hours. Gen Asagiri has also noted that his stamina is immense. He is also the strongest man for endurance after Tsukasa was put in cryosleep and Hyoga incarcerated. Magma, Ginro, and Yo notably respect Taiju due to his perk of "limitless stamina" that surpasses even the strongest man in Ishigami Village.

Senku Ishigami

Senku Ishigami (石神千空 Ishigami Senkū) is the main protagonist of Dr. Stone, and is friends with Taiju Oki and Yuzuriha Ogawa. He is known for his catchphrases, one of which is "Ten Billion Percent" . He was de-petrified half a year before Taiju, and eventually created the Stone Formula with Taiju's help. In the Stone World, Senku wants to rebuild civilization and establish a Kingdom of Science. He was the first-prize champion in the village games, and currently holds the title of Village chief in Ishigami Village. Senku is a young male with an average build. His characteristic hair has two bangs going across his eyes and the rest sprays up, like a plant. His hair is a light, dirty blonde with dark green tips. He has red eyes. After his de-petrification, he has two diagonal marks reflected against each other on top of the beginning of his eyebrows. His clothing remains the same. Before the Stone Apocalypse, he wore his school uniform. In the Z=1 Stone World, he switched to wearing animal skin clothing in a rudimentary manner. After Yuzuriha's de-petrification, he gets a clothing redesign. He wears the same animal skin, but this time in a caveman style, patched up in a better manner. Albert Einstein's mass–energy equivalence formula (E=mc²) is printed across the front of his clothes, serving as a "motto". Kohaku states he has the face of a "lady killer" implying he is handsome. Senku has an over-the-top attitude that comes in the form of comedy and leadership. He is confident in himself and has the ability to back it up.

Even so, he never lets his confidence clouds his judgment or belittles those around him. Rather, he serves as a source of encouragement and inspiration to everyone around him. Because of his wits and his caring nature, people tend to gather around him colleagues and supporters alike. Although he has a strong sense of justice, he doesn't let the rules dictate his actions and can be cunning at times to get what he wants. He often acts as if he builds inventions and uses people for his own interests and in the name of science, but beneath his arrogance and manipulative nature lies a genuinely kind heart. He goes against Tsukasa, stating he would use science for the sake of saving the seven billion people petrified. In a flashback, when asked who he would choose between saving himself, his friend or his lover, he answered he would find a way to save everyone. He proves this true when he chooses to "sacrifice" himself to save his friend Yuzuriha from Tsukasa at the cost of revealing to him the ingredients and process for the elixir that would de-petrify the stone statues. similarly, he built an automobile for the express purpose of being able to transport the elderly with limited mobility despite claiming he did it for the sake of faster travel to the enemy headquarters. He even willingly was going to walk into a very obvious trap set by Tsukasa to save Chrome (as Tsukasa knew he would never abandon his friends) though luckily Chrome cleverly managed to escape on his own. On a side note, he seems averse to the idea of romance. He was disturbed when he met Kohaku and she claimed she "fell for him" before clarifying she meant it in a platonic manner and was interested in his actions more than anything. He calls a brain filled with love the most illogical and seems against the idea himself though he is shown supportive of Taiju's and Yuzuriha's relationship along with Chrome's feelings for Ruri. In addition, when he married Ruri, he immediately divorced her rather than take advantage of the situation and seemed disturbed when Nikki claimed to have fallen for him (though she hasn't shown increased romantic interest since). Senku strongly believes in science, believing that there is nothing science cannot solve but that science is a steady pain in the ass long process of understanding the rules behind the phenomenon.

He refuses to lie about anything regarding science, as Tsukasa asked if Senku would promise to quit pursuing science and Tsukasa would not kill him, Senku flat out refused. He will never lie when it comes to the capabilities of science (partially due to his own straightforward personality). Senku is perseverant in his endeavors, having worked solo for six months initially in creating the de-petrification elixir. He also has the habit of saying "ten billion percent chance" as his catchphrase for when he is sure of something. He loves science and particularly loves to create new inventions. He will also use his accomplishments and inventions to win people to his side, such as recreating ramen from scratch to win over some of the villagers to help him in his process to make iron. He tends to be conniving and straight forward in his opinions, which gets on the nerves of some of his friends and makes him a terrible negotiator. Nonetheless, his intelligence, charisma, and compassion for his friends allows him to win many allies and even move some of his enemies, most notably Tsukasa. Senku Ishigami is a genius with a vast amount of scientific knowledge. He is able to invent various kinds of tools and gadgets in a short amount of time with ease. As a child, he designed and built a functioning miniature rocket ship. Senku also possesses an analytical mind, being able to correctly discern the situation he is in. Even in his pre-teens, he was intelligent and sharp-minded enough to create advanced machines. Senku has shown knowledge in chemistry, physics, engineering, geology, biology and mathematics. In addition, he has enough medical expertise to save Gen through blood transfusion, create aspirin and accurately diagnose and cure Ruri of her pneumonia, and cryogenically preserve Tsukasa until they could find a proper cure for his injuries. He has his limits, as he admits he isn't a vehicle architect. He also can't compare to Kaseki in terms of building skills, as Kaseki has far more experience than him.

Muichiro Tokito

Muichiro Tokito (時透 無一郎 Tokitō Muichirō?) is a Demon Hunter and the Mist Pillar of the Demon Killing Corps. Muichiro is a young man of short stature, with long black hair finished in mint green, with eyes of the same color. He usually wears the Demon Hunter uniform. Muichiro is an air-headed individual who seems to constantly wander off in thought and never focus on one thing. However, he has been shown to get serious at times and is devoted to his work as a Demon Hunter and the Mist Pillar. Impassive and at times obtuse, Muichiro tends to think only for himself and operates on logic alone. Muichiro's original personality was much more caring and kind having taken after his father. Despite this, he always held an omnipresent rage deeply suppressed inside of him that inevitably drove his training. After his memories returned, Muichiro has been more emotive such as displaying sarcasm and smugness towards the fifth upper moon, Gyokko. Muichiro and his twin older brother, Yuuichiro, were born to a woodcutter and his wife. While they were 10, their mother caught a cold. It eventually turned into bronchitis and killed her while in bed.

Their father, away at the time, went to fetch medicinal herbs during a storm and wound up falling off a cliff to his death. The two siblings survived together. While Muichiro took after the emotive and kind nature of their father, Yuuichiro instead held a cold and impassive outlook. They often bickered and Muichiro considered being with him a living hell. In the following spring, Oyakata's wife Amane arrived to recruit them for the Demon Killing Corps. Muichiro's excitement was opposed by Yuuichiro's unwelcoming and rejecting reception. In an outburst, Yuuichiro revealed that he blamed the death of their parents on their hardworking and selfless nature and adopted a cold outlook hoping to keep himself and his brother alive. While Amane continued to visit the twins, Yuuichiro chased her away each time. In the following summer, a demon arrived at their cabin. Yuuichiro lost his left arm defending Muichiro. As the demon badgered them for their worthlessness, Muichiro lost himself in rage and destroyed the demon with all the tools at their disposal and wooden logs. By sunrise, the demon withered into ash and Muichiro dragged himself back to the house. There, he found Yuuichiro near death praying to the heavens that his brother might survive. He laid there grasping his brother's hand as the latter died and he slowly withered away. Amane and her daughters later arrived to heal him. Afterwards, Muichiro would lose his memories and serve the Demon Killing Corps. He quickly rose to become a pillar while his memories would remain lost until battling in the Swordsmith Village. With his memories gone, he began taking after Yuuichiro's personality.

He met Rengoku during this period in the Demon Killing Corps who told him to do the best they could as pillars. His first blades were made by Tetsuido up until a heart attack that led to his death. Kanamori, following Tetsuido's techniques, created Muichiro's current blade.

Natural Abilities

Enhanced strength: Despite his build being the smallest and seemingly weak of the Demon Hunters and Pillars, Muichiro has been shown to be stronger than Tanjiro by a wide margin and did not budge when the latter held on and gripped his arm with all of his strength despite Tanjiro in the beginning of the series being strong enough to break Genya Shinazugawa's arm.

Omnipresent Rage: Muichiro attributes the origin of his willpower towards training and strength towards the awakened rage within him.

Shinobu Kocho

Shinobu Kocho (胡蝶しのぶ Kochō Shinobu?) was a Demon Hunter and the Insect Pillar of the Demon Killing Corps. Shinobu has short black hair tied back with a purple butterfly ornament and parted fringes. She also has grey compound looking eyes similar to those in bugs. Shinobu is rather short in height and has been described as having a small and weak looking built, which is later reinforced by her saying that she does not possess the physical strength to cut a demon's head off like other the other Pillars. She uses the standard Demon Hunter uniform of a straight-lined black jacket with black hakama pants tucked into a butterfly pattern fabric around her lower legs and white sandals. She also wears a grey haori with a butterfly wing pattern, which fades into a turquoise and pink color on the sleeves. Shinobu is rather laid back, always having a smile on her face regardless of the situation. She seems to enjoy teasing others and can be rather sadistic about it. Despite her relaxed exterior and her initial claim of wanting to get along with demons, she can be rather cruel towards them such as killing the spider older sister after giving her false hope of helping her, and attempting to kill Nezuko without hesitation. Later on she is shown to have a more compassionate side towards both Tanjiro and Nezuko after hearing their full story.

Later during her battle against Doma, Shinobu revealed that she also suffered from an inferiority complex due to her inferior physical abilities compared to her fellow Pillars, having been jealous of them for possessing taller or more muscular bodies than her and cursing her own body for not developing further to make her more effective in combat.it was also revealed that she also held a strong amount of frustration and rage due to everything and everyone she lost that she usually held back. Shinobu was born as the youngest daughter within the Kocho household, living alongside her mother, father and older sister Kanae. She was raised in a loving and caring household until her parents were slaughtered by demons, before her and her sister's eyes. Just when the demon was about to attack her and her sister, they were saved by the pillar, Himejima Gyoumei, who slayed the demon. Determined by the pain and suffering they endured, Shinobu and Kanae both promised to become demon slayers to protect each other as well as prevent other people from enduring the same losses they had to experience. Later in her life, while accompanying her sister Kanae on a trip. The sisters encountered a young girl being led away as a slave on a bridge. Intrigued by her, Kanae took an interest and decided to take the girl back to the Butterfly Estate, against Shinobu's initial wishes. They eventually purchased the girl, named Tsuyuri, from her master and trained her within the Butterfly Estate to become the next tsuguko.

Natural Abilities

Despite not possessing the physical strength to cut of a demons head common to that of a average demon slayer or even the superhuman abilities possessed by her fellow pillars,Shinobu is non the less as dangerous and deadly as the rest of them,She has instead made up for these shortcomings using her extensive knowledge of medicine and poisons and acts as the official head doctor/medical expert of the Demon Slayer corps, having used her skills and knowledge to create a wide array of deadly westeria based poisons incorporated in her thrust/stab swordstyle to make up for her inability to cut of demon heads and using her knowledge to create several antidotes and anti-venoms specifically created to counter the types of poisons/drugs created by demons,as seen when she cured Zenitsu Agatsuma of the poisons that was slowly transforming him into a spider creature.

Sakonji Urokodaki

Sakonji Urokodaki (鱗滝 左近次 Urokodaki Sakonji?) is a Cultivator of Swordsmen in the service of the Demon Killing Corps. He was also formerly a Demon Hunter, having held a position as a Pillar. Urokodaki's face has never been revealed or depicted; he is always seen wearing a tengu mask which covers his face. He appears to be an elderly individual as noted by the countless number of students he's trained as well as his silver coloured hair. He is always seen wearing a jinbei styled kimono with a hood covering his head whenever he is travelling. Having received a letter from Giyu Tomioka requesting that he train Tanjiro Kamado, which also explained the boy and his sister's circumstances, Sakonji set forth from his home to find the two. Upon finding them, he stops Tanjiro from attempting to kill a Demon with his knife, stating that the boy will be unable to kill the creature with such a blunt weapon. Admonishing the youth for his question of how to properly defeat the beast, the elder watches as Tanjiro struggles to come up with a way to dispatch the creature. Sniffing the youth, Sakonji determines that he is no good, as he still has the scent of kindness even when confronted by vile demons. While Tanjiro is still struggling to kill the demon, Sakonji buries the victims of the creature, afterwards kneeling by their graves with his hands together in prayer. He then introduces himself to the youth, asking if he is the one Giyuu spoke of in his letter. Getting an affirmation to his inquiry, Sakonji goes on to ask the boy what he will do if his sister decides to feast on a human, slapping him when he hesitates to answer. He admonishes the youth on his slowness to answer, stating that he lacks determination, and stresses that he must not allow his sister to harm another human under any circumstance. Getting an answer of conviction from Tanjiro, the elder agrees to test the boy to see if he is worthy of becoming a Demon Slayer, telling him to bring his sister and follow him. Sakonji then swiftly makes for his home, with Tanjiro struggling to keep up with his pace. Arriving at their destination, the elder tells the exhausted youth that the test begins now, instructing him to hike up the mountain. He travels with the boy part way up the mountain, telling him that he must make his way back to his home before dawn.

He then vanishes into the heavy fog surrounding them. Later, having made his way back down the mountain, Sakonji drapes a blanket over Nezuko, before noticing a noise at his door. A heavily exhausted and injured Tanjiro opens the door, prompting the elder to recognise his abilities, and thus his passing of the test. Sakonji explains his profession as a Cultivator to Tanjiro, as well as how to join the Demon Killing Corps: surviving the Final Selection. To prepare him for this trial, and to see if he is worthy of even being able to participate in it, Sakonji begins to train Tanjiro in the way of the sword. He explains the intricacies of the weapon and the forces behind it, sparring with Tanjiro to improve his endurance using only his bare hands. Alongside this, he trains the boy in proper breathing techniques, slapping his stomach when he fails to get it right. When Nezuko falls into a coma, Sakonji calls for a doctor, who cannot find anything wrong with her. Finally, after a year has passed, the elder tells Tanjiro that he has nothing more to teach him, instructing him to prove himself by improving the basics he has been taught. He then leads the youth to a huge boulder, telling him that if he can cut it in half, he will be permitted to go to the Final Selection. When Tanjiro hesitates, overcome by doubt, Sakonji leaves without a word, his hand in the boy's training completed. Sakonji compliments Tanjiro on the completion of his training. Much later, after Tanjiro finally succeeds in slicing the boulder in half, Sakonji explains his reasons for not wanting Tanjiro to go to the Final Selection, complimenting the youth on his accomplishment.

He then wraps the youth in a hug, urging him to come back alive from the Demon Killing Corps' test. Before Tanjiro leaves, the elder cuts his hair and gives him a mask to ward off bad luck. Besides, Sakonji explains that Demons increase in power by consuming humans, can use a type of sorcery to alter their bodies and that Tanjiro will be able to figure out how many humans a Demon has consumed if he increases the sensitivity of his nose. When Tanjiro wishes him farewell, asking the old man to look after Sabito and Makomo, Sakonji wonders aloud how the boy knew the names of his two dead apprentices. After Tanjiro returns from the Final Selection, Sakonji and Nezuko embrace him, the elder weeping tears of joy while saying that the youth had finally made it back alive. Fifteen days after this, Haganezuka arrives with Tanjiro's new sword, but ignores the youth's attempts at hospitality, prompting Sakonji to note to himself that the swordsmith hadn't changed. He then agrees with Haganeduka when he notes that Tanjiro's blade may turn red, watching shortly after that as it instead turns black. Noting this, the elder watches as Haganeduka throws a fit over this unexpected development. Sakonji then watches in silence as Tanjiro buttons up his uniform, and subsequently shows him a box made out of "Mist Cloud Fir", which he can hide Nezuko from the sun with. He speculates that Tanjiro's sister may have fallen into her coma because she was attempting to regain strength through sleep, rather than through consuming humans. He goes on to tell Tanjiro that while she was sleeping, he gave Nezuko some suggestions to her subconscious to defend humans as her family from other demons. He also informs his apprentice about Caster Demons and the monster responsible for the creation of other Demons and the murder of Tanjiro's family, Kibutsuji Muzan.

Kyojuro Rengoku

Kyojuro Rengoku (煉獄 杏寿郎 Rengoku Kyōjurō?) was a Demon Hunter and the Flame Pillar of the Demon Killing Corps. Kyojuro was a young adult of tall stature with bright yellow hair with red streaks, black forked eyebrows, and golden eyes. His outfit consisted of the regular Demon Hunter uniform along with a white-yellow gradient pattern and red flame-like ridges at the end. Kyojuro was greatly enthusiastic in regard to his duties as a Pillar and often cheerfully eccentric. He was amiable, kind and boasted extraordinary technique and swordsmanship stemming from strict practice and discipline. He was an honorable warrior who adhered to his code of morals and principles that was instilled into him by his mother at a young age - the most significant being that those who were born strong have a duty to protect the weak.

Kyojuro is the eldest son of Shinjurou. His father was known as the Flame Pillar of the Demon Killing Corps until his unexpected retirement. During the Demon Train Arc, it is revealed that Kyojuro has a younger brother who trained alongside him until their father ceased to teach them. His strength is displayed when he defends over 200 people from being slaughtered by the demons. He comes face to face with the Third Upper Moon, Akaza, and battles him head on but is fatally wounded and succumbs to his injuries. Kocho Shinobu noted that Tanjiro was on trial, which Kyojuro saw no need for, as the youth's protecting of a Demon was a clear violation of conduct, a matter he stated they could deal with themselves. He then agreed with Himejima Gyoumei's idea to kill Kamado Nezuko, witnessing shortly afterward Tanjiro's coughing fit, and remained silent when Kanroji Mitsuri asked if they should be dealing with their subordinate's trial without Oyakata-sama's input. After Tanjiro headbutted Shinazugawa Sanemi, Kyojuro looked at Mitsuri when she laughed with a neutral expression.

Natural abilities

Enhanced strength: Kyojuro possessed great hand and arm strength that was described as "Unbelievable" by Akaza despite the fact he was gravely injured during that time.

Enhanced speed: Kyojuro could move at high speeds that even a trained Demon Hunter like Tanjiro couldn't see or follow and could even cause tremors with it.

Giyu Tomioka

Giyu Tomioka (冨岡 義勇 Tomioka Giyū?) is a Demon Hunter and the Water Pillar of the Demon Killing Corps. Giyu is a tall young man with medium length, messy black hair tied back into a low ponytail and dark blue eyes. He wears the standard black Demon Hunters uniform along with a haori with two different patterns, one red and one geometrically patterned with green, orange, and yellow. (the latter belonged to Sabito). Giyu always wears a serious expression on his face and has a reserved personality and a strong sense of justice.

He has no tolerance towards those who don't know their own limitations and throw away their lives. Despite letting Nezuko live due to Tanjiro's persistence, like most Demon Hunters he shows no hesitation when killing other demons, and has no respect towards them. He seems to have a complex with what others think of him and is shocked when Shinobu claims he is hated by many. He doesn't say much and has trouble interacting with others, so he usually keeps himself at a distance. It is revealed that Giyu suffers from an inferiority complex which he developed since his participation in the Final Selection. It gets severe to the point where he contemplates abandoning his position as the Water PIllar until Tanjiro helps him realize that instead of acting on his survivor's guilt, he should cherish his life and live on for the people who sacrificed their lives for him.

When Giyu was young, his family was killed by demons. Giyu survived as he was protected by his elder sister. When Giyu was 13 years old, he met Sabito and they were great friends due to their similar pasts and age. They both entered the Final Selection in the Wisteria Flower Mountain. However, Giyu was injured due to a demon attacking him. Luckily, Sabito saved him before heading off towards another cry for help. It appeared that Giyu fainted and after the week was over, he was accepted. As for Sabito, he was the only one who died during that selection.

Swordsmanship

Breath of Water Style (水の呼吸 Mizu no kokyū?)[22]: Taught by Sakonji Urokodaki. The user can increase the amount of oxygen in one's blood by controlling his breathing pattern. This increases his strength and agility to equal a demon's. Giyu has learned to do full focus breaths at all times as all pillars, further increasing his base strength, speed, and stamina. While he knows all of the Breath Style techniques, he has developed one additional by himself.

Muzan Kibutsuji

Muzan Kibutsuji (鬼舞辻無惨 Kibutsuji Muzan?) is a Demon, the first of his kind, and the progenitor of most other Demons. He is also the enemy of the Kamado family. He is the one that killed the Kamado family, turned Nezuko Kamado into a demon and made Tanjiro Kamado an orphan. He looks like a man in his late twenties. He has curly black hair and somewhat small eyes, his pupils are vertical like cat eyes and colored plum red. He usually is shown with a white fedora with red ribbon and a somewhat extravagant outfit. Muzan has the ability to change his appearance as shown in the manga. During his meeting with the Lower Moon's, he arrived disguised as a woman wearing a yukata and was not recognized by the demons. He also once disguised as little bookworm child in hiding. Muzan is a cold-hearted and ruthless individual with a narcissistic streak and an obsession for perfection. He wants every plan he concocted to be absolutely perfect, which is why he doesn't tolerate failures of any kind, resorting to punishing those who fail him or those he considers weak. His inflated ego is such that he doesn't take kindly to being mocked, demonstrated by killing a pair of drunk men simply for being rude to him along with their woman partner, all in gruesome fashion while proclaiming his superiority of being close to that of perfection.

By proxy, he also dislikes when he is questioned or ordered by those beneath him, and doesn't take his opponents seriously. He has shown to be fairly manipulative and cunning, being able to blend in human society normally, even having a family of his own to add. His intelligence makes him a quick-thinker who is able to deal with unfavorable situations rapidly. Because of his perceived superiority and his double-faced nature, he feels little attachment to his henchmen, using them and discarding them as disposable pawn whenever he pleases. He is able to sway many demons to his side with promises of power and grandeur, which are ultimately false given Kibutsuji only cares about himself, and has no qualms about killing his own men to protect his own safety. As proof of this, he curses his subordinates in a terrifying manner so that none of them may utter his name, or else they will be killed instantly in a morbidly cruel manner. Interestingly this almost paranoic sense of self-preservation, contrasts with his megalomania. Muzan was diagnosed with a disease that would kill him before he reached the age of 20. He sought medical assistance from Blue Spider Lily, but he turned into a demon as a result. In a fit of rage, he killed the doctor. Since the sun was fatal to him, he resorted to doing his activities only during the night. At some point in time, Muzan almost got himself killed by the Breath of the Sun user, although he managed to escape and survive. Ever since then, he was more vigilant and careful about encountering possible Breath of the Sun users, who can be identified by a pair of Hanafuda earrings they usually wear.

Powers and Abilities:

Regeneration: Muzan is probably the fastest in term of regeneration. Even having his body destroyed and his head completely destroyed wouldn't kill him

Extrasensory Perception: Muzan can feel demons' and humans' presences, as well as bloodlust.

Absorption: He was going to absorb Tamayo, and planned to absorb spikes that penetrated his flesh, as well as planning to eat Nezuko to obtain her immunity to the sun, Adapted to become immune to being beheaded by blades created with sunlight imbued metal. Should be capable of adapting to poisons better than other higher moon demons, who became resistant to wisteria poison which kills normal demons in seconds, and was adapting to a poison made to transform demons into humans,  Biological Manipulation/ Power Bestowal through blood,  Blood Manipulation, Telepathy of those he shared his blood with Teleportation and  Spatial Manipulation with Dimensional Infinity Fortress,  Resistance to poisons.

Immortality:  Since he took Blue Spider Lily medicine, he can live many centuries without aging, and gains immunity to many diseases.

Durability: At least superior to Tanjiro. He was hit by an explosion that reduced a house to mostly ashes . But remains mostly intact.

Inosuke Hashibira

Inosuke Hashibira (嘴平伊之助 Hashibira Inosuke?) is a Kanoe ranked Demon Slayer and member of the Demon Killing Corps and a traveling companion of Tanjirou Kamado. Inosuke is usually seen wearing a grey boar mask, with a shirtless version of the Demon hunter uniform. Without the mask, he has messy shoulder-length black hair that fades to a blue color, and large green eyes with long eyelashes. He is described as having a girly looking face which significantly contrasts with his muscular body. Inosuke is extraordinarily short-tempered and proud and makes a big deal out of fighting opponents stronger than him claiming that's his only hobby. Inosuke will not think about the difference in power between him and his opponent; this often led him to be in danger. He is a sore loser and is always trying to compete with Tanjiro and provoke him into fighting with him and usually failing.

Due to growing up in the mountains by himself Inosuke has trouble interacting with others and only cares about himself most of the time. However, as time goes by, Inosuke becomes more influenced by Tanjiro, and he also starts to think and to use strategies before going head-on with an opponent. Inosuke was raised by boars for most of his life before the Final Selection; it was revealed later that he was born into a family with an abusive father and caring mother. Eventually, Inosuke's mother, Kotoha, and he fled from their family. Afterwards, Inosuke—who was still an infant at the time—and his mother were taken in by Doma into his Eternal Paradise cult. Kotoha loved to sing to Inosuke but would apparently change the song lyrics each time. However, after finding out that Doma eats his worshippers, Kotoha fled with her son. Running aimlessly for a human village, Kotoha eventually ended up at the top of a cliff. Seeing no escape route, Kotoha makes a last ditch effort to save Inosuke by dropping him into the river below the cliff. It was after this that Inosuke was taken in by boars and his mother was devoured by Doma.

Zenitsu Agatsuma

Zenitsu Agatsuma (我妻善逸 Agatsuma Zen'itsu?) is a Demon Hunter and member of the Demon Killing Corps. He is a traveling companion of Tanjiro Kamado and one of the main protagonists of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Zenitsu has short blond hair, which was originally black, and brown eyes with thick eyebrows. He wears the standard Demon Hunter uniform underneath a white-triangle pattern, yellow haori. Zenitsu is a coward, always claiming he doesn't have long to live due to the dangerous job of being a Demon Hunter. He is also a bit of a womanizer and likes to hit on girls who he thinks are cute and ask them to marry him much to their annoyance. Zenitsu has low self-esteem but still wants to live up to the expectations others set up for him.

However, he was constantly afraid and would always cry and run away. He claims he wants to live a modest life where he can be useful to someone. Despite all his spinelessness, Zenitsu holds great respect and admiration towards his comrades and his deceased teacher, Jigoro Kuwajima. His focus and drive in avenging him wash away all his cowardice and second thoughts. When Zenitsu was a young boy, he was financially supported by a woman who owned a lot of debt. She had eloped with Zenitsu, which got him into troubled and it was 'Gramps', the former Thunder Pillar, who saved him from the trouble. Gramps decided to train Zenitsu along with his eldest disciple, Kaigaku. On one of the days during his training, Zenitsu climbed up a tree because he felt that he was disappointing Gramps, when suddenly, a stroke of lightning hit him, causing his hair to turn blonde. Zenitsu and Kaigaku hated each other; however, Zenitsu respected Kaigaku and treasured him. Zenitsu eventually wished to fight alongside Kaigaku one day, and thus he created a seventh style, 'Breath of Thunder, Flaming Thunder God'.

Natural Abilities

Enhanced Sense of Hearing: Zenitsu has a heightened sense of hearing, allowing him to detect danger from even the faintest of sounds. He could also hear the inner thoughts of people if he uses the sense of hearing to its fullest ability.

Unconscious Combat: Zenitsu becomes stronger when he sleeps. When his life is in danger, the fear he experiences exceeds his limits making him fall unconscious. When Zenitsu is asleep, he can perform his swordsmanship at a high level purely based on instinct alone. However, as he continues to improve his skills and courage, he begins to depend on this ability less and less.
Swordsmanship

Breath of Thunder Style (雷の呼吸 Kaminari no kokyū?): Taught to Zenitsu by a former Pillar, Jigoro Kuwajima. This technique increases the user's strength and agility to equal a demon's. There are a total of six styles that can be used with the Breath of Thunder, but Zenitsu was so untalented that he was only able to learn the first of the six styles, which is said to be the simplest. Later on, he was able to create a seventh style when confronting his former senior.
