Monkey D. Luffy

Monkey D. Luffy, also known as " Straw Hat Luffy" and commonly as "Straw Hat", is the main protagonist of the manga and anime, One Piece. He is the founder and captain of the increasingly infamous and powerful Straw Hat Pirates, as well as one of its top fighters. His lifelong dream is to become the Pirate King by finding the legendary treasure left behind by the late Gol D. Roger. He believes that being the Pirate King means having the most freedom in the world. Born in Foosha Village, Luffy accidentally ate the Gomu Gomu no Mi at age 7, which turned his body into rubber. He met "Red-Haired" Shanks, who gave Luffy the very Straw Hat that has become Luffy's signature accessory, having gifted it to the boy as part of a promise for them to meet again someday. Luffy is the son of the Revolutionary leader Monkey D. Dragon, the grandson of the Marine hero Monkey D. Garp, the sworn brother of the late "Fire Fist" Portgas D. Ace and Revolutionary Chief-of-Staff Sabo, and the foster son of Curly Dadan. He is one of the few people in the world who carries the Will of D. Luffy has gone up against numerous global powers around him, starting with fighting the most powerful pirates in the East Blue and moving to clashes against the Marines, Seven Warlords of the Sea, Cipher Pol, World Nobles, and even the Four Emperors of the Grand Line, emerging victorious in a majority of these battles. He invaded and indirectly caused the annihilation of Enies Lobby, escaped the impregnable Impel Down, and was a focal figure in the Summit War of Marineford. He either defeated or befriended seven of the eleven known past or present Warlords prior to the organization's dissolution, and has invaded the territory of two Emperors. Luffy's accomplishments and heritage have caused him to be labeled as a "Dangerous Future Element" while in the process gaining a reputation for being "reckless" and, in some cases, "insane", earning the wrath of Fleet Admiral Sakazuki, the Marine Headquarters, and even the World Government. Luffy also has a penchant for attracting followers and has unwillingly been named the leader of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet, consisting of seven pirate crews who swore to come to his aid whenever he wishes. After learning of this and his exploits against the Big Mom Pirates, the press has labeled him the "Fifth Emperor of the Sea", though many prominent figures consider this to be exaggerated. Having had a bounty of 300,000,000 before he arrived at the Sabaody Archipelago, Luffy was one of eleven "Super Rookies", pirates who simultaneously reached the Red Line with bounties of over 100,000,000 shortly before the Summit War. He, the other ten Super Rookies, and Marshall D. Teach would go on to be referred to as the "Worst Generation". Eventually, his conquests and his reputation end up contributing to his current bounty of 1,500,000,000.

As the battle at the Live Stage unfolded, Luffy told Shinobu to trust Yamato. He then attempted to jump to the roof of the Skull Dome along with Zoro, but Queen prevented their advance. When the other Straw Hats arrived, the crew assembled on the Live Stage. The samurai fought to open a path for the Straw Hats, but they struggled to bring one of the Numbers down, so Zoro sliced its club and Jinbe saved some samurai from the falling piece while Luffy went on to attack the Number with Gear Fourth. At this moment, he encountered X Drake, who struck down another of the Numbers. Afterwards, Drake offered to join forces with him. Unlike Zoro, Franky, and Jinbe, Luffy immediately accepted Drake's help. As Luffy and Sanji rushed to reach Kaidou, Apoo tried to attack them, but they quickly covered their ears. When Hatcha arrived, Sanji told Luffy to ignore him so they do not waste time with a pointless fight. As they continued on, Sanji had to constantly keep Luffy from engaging in pointless fights. They were confronted by Briscola, but Jinbe arrived to aid them. After defeating Briscola, Jinbe offered to escort Luffy and Sanji to the roof. The trio reached the first level of the castle, and they got past two Shinuchis along the way. As they went through the third level, Sanji separated from Luffy and Jinbe. The two ran into rebels from Udon, and they built a ladder to the fourth level. At the fourth level, Luffy separated from Jinbe, who decided to remain on the floor to hold back the enemy.[ At the fifth level, Luffy found that the Mink Tribe had cleared his way to the roof. Once he arrived there, he joined up with Zoro, Law, Kid, and Killer as they prepared to fight Kaidou and Big Mom. Luffy briefly ignored the two Emperors to check up on Kin'emon and his group, who were wounded but still alive. Luffy agreed to take Wano's fate upon his shoulders and asked Law to send the Scabbards somewhere safe. After Law did so, Luffy dodged an attack by Kaidou and struck back with a new and powerful Gear Third attack called Red Roc that made Kaidou bleed, shocking both Emperors. Kaidou then struck back by attacking with his club. Luffy managed to avoid the full brunt of the attack but he was still grazed by Kaidou. Big Mom attempted to attack Luffy with Prometheus, but Zoro stepped in and cut the sun homie in two. Kaidou tried attacking Luffy again, but Law teleported Luffy to another spot. After Law berated Luffy for making it look like Law was taking orders from him, Luffy then challenged Law and Kid to a game of chicken when Big Mom launched an attack at the three captains. Not moving an inch, the three captains took the attack head on. They quickly recovered and attacked Kaidou together, but the Emperor transformed and joined Big Mom in the sky, ready to launch a counterattack. Kaidou then used a roar to unleash several wind blades on the five members of the Worst Generation. Luffy dodged them and struck Kaidou with Kong Rifle, which injured him. Right after Killer got struck by Big Mom's Indra, Kaidou tried to chomp on Killer, but Luffy kicked Kaidou away with Rhino Schneider. Kaidou prepared to use Bolo Breath on Luffy, but Zoro had Law teleport him to in front of Kaidou so he could defend Luffy by cutting Kaidou's flames. Big Mom unleashed God of Lightning: Tenjin on Luffy and his allies. Luffy got struck, but was unharmed due to his body being rubber. He then got hit by Kaidou's Bolo Breath, but to Kaidou's surprise, Luffy came out unscathed, claiming that it was his guts that protected him. He then struck Kaidou with Kong Gatling. Eventually, Luffy got exhausted from the stress of using Gear Fourth and reverted back, forcing Zoro to protect him from both Kaidou and Big Mom's attacks. Luffy then watched as Kaidou transformed into his Human-Beast form. Luffy eventually recovered from the effects of Gear Fourth and resumed fighting. Insisting that their attacks so far were being effective, Luffy kept stubbornly assaulting Kaidou and Big Mom, who repeatedly struck him away as the other Supernovas discussed a way to separate the two Emperors. When Kaidou and Big Mom prepared a devastating combined attack, Luffy was able to see into the future the range and scope of the shockwave, alerting the others about it. After Zoro managed to delay the attack for an instant and Law teleported everybody to safety, Luffy attempted to punch Kaidou once more, giddily noticing that the Emperor was weakened enough to start dodging attacks instead of enduring them, thus confirming his suspicions from before. Kaidou countered Luffy's punch with a series of attacks of his own, managing to knock the Straw Hat captain out. Like their prior confrontation at Kuri, Luffy kept "glaring" at Kaidou even while unconscious, something that Kaidou noted. Luffy did not stay down for long and, in fact, was able to deduce the secret behind Kaidou's immense power and defenses after observing the Emperor's latest attack and reminiscing his own training with Hyogoro. Telling Kaidou that he was fighting for his Wano friends and would refuse to submit to him, Luffy learned how to coat his own body with Haoshoku Haki, allowing himself to defend and counterattack Kaidou's strikes without even making contact with the Emperor. Confident that he now had a reliable way to hurt Kaidou, Luffy declared to Law and an unconscious Zoro that he would defeat him. After Law left the battlefield with Zoro and Zeus, Kaidou got up and, admitting that both he and Luffy were enjoying this fight, clashed once more with the Straw Hat captain. However, Luffy lacked skill in the use of Haoshoku coating and was soon overpowered and defeated by Kaidou. The unconscious Luffy was thrown off the flying Onigashima and fell towards the sea. As he sunk into the depths, the Kaidou disappointedly noted that Luffy was not able to become Joy Boy. However, as Luffy sunk into the sea, he used the Voice of All Things to transmit a message to Momonosuke, to tell his crew that he will be back and that he will win against Kaidou. He also used it to call the Heart Pirates who were aboard the Polar Tang to come and rescue him. After they brought him into the ship and pushed the water out of his lungs, he began demanding meat Having reached Tokage Port, even after Luffy ate the Heart Pirates entire stock of food, he demanded more, which they fortunately managed to procure thanks to Caribou being nearby, with months worth of provisions stored within his swamp. As he ate, he reunited with a sobbing Momonosuke, who just recently landed on the mainland thanks to Shinobu's kite, and had not long ago witnessed Kiku and Kin'emon fall before his eyes. Luffy told the boy to stop crying and to transform into his dragon form and fly him back to Onigashima. Thanks to Caribou's provisions, Luffy regained his strength back and was later amazed to see Momonosuke in his adult dragon form, thanks to Shinobu's Devil Fruit powers, asking Momonosuke to fly to Onigashima and get another chance at beating Kaido. Still, Luffy was angry at Momonosuke's fear of heights, which in his eyes should be over now that he has become an adult dragon, cosntantly calling him out for being afraid and missing their chance at getting Kaido. Momonosuke then overcame his fear, descending towards Onigashima, with Luffy barely hanging onto his horn. They would both pass through the Live Floor, leaving everybody shocked and questioning why Luffy was riding a dragon as well as passing by Law, Kid and Big Mom who where shocked as well and passed through several parts of the castle leaving everybody in shock about a second dragon on Onigashima. When they finally reached the roof and spotted Kaido, Luffy was quick to transform into his Gear Fourth: Snakeman and attack Kaido with Gomu Gomu no Jet Culverin, unknowingly strike simultanesouly with Yamato, who had been stalling Kaido the whole time, being enjoyed to finally reunite. Shorly thereafter, Kaido transformed into his Dragon-Form, preparing to face all three of them at once, with Luffy standing above Momonosuke, confirming his name and dream of becoming Pirate King when asked by Kaido. After Momonosuke barely dodged Kaido's attack, Luffy would then take over the first strike at Kaido, but not before telling Momonosuke to bite Kaido, hitting Kaido with Gomu Gomu no Elephant Gun and sending him headfirst into the ground. When Kaido was preparing to attack Momonosuke after being bitten by the latter, Luffy came to Momonosuke's rescue, punching Kaido with an infused Punch, sending him into the ground headfirst once again. Thanks to an unnotice Mary on the roof, Luffy was able to transmit his message to all of Onigashima, insisting on him wanting to beat Kaido, boosting the morale of his allies and crew. He then prepared as Kaido transformed into his Human-Beast Form, both punching each other simultaneously with infused Haki, creating a shockwave which was able to split the sky above Onigashima and reveal the full moon hidden beneath it. After the clash cooled off, he then asked Yamato to take Momonosuke and flee, wanting a chance at defeating Kaidou 1v1 and then prevented Kaido from stopping their retreat by wrapping his legs around Kaidou's neck and stopping him from going any further without him. Both Luffy and Kaidou then resumed their fight, once again infusing their attacks.

Eustass Kid

Eustass "Captain" Kid is a notorious pirate from South Blue and the captain of the Kid Pirates. He is one of twelve pirates who are referred to as the "Worst Generation". One of the reasons his bounty was higher than Luffy's when they arrived at the Sabaody Archipelago was the huge numbers of civilian casualties that Kid and his crew caused in the course of their activities. Sometime during the timeskip, his bounty was raised from 315,000,000 beli to 470,000,000. He also lost one of his arms in a confrontation against one of the Four Emperors, Shanks, during this period, and attempted to form an alliance with the On Air Pirates and Hawkins Pirates to challenge the Red Hair Pirates once more, but it was eventually disbanded due to the actions of another Emperor, Kaidou. Kid and his crew briefly join forces with the Straw Hat Pirates and Heart Pirates during the Sabaody Archipelago Arc. He also becomes an ally member of the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance during the Wano Country Arc.

In the Udon region of Wano Country, Kid was sitting in a cell of the Prisoner Mine when Luffy was thrown next to him. Both Kid and Luffy swore payback against Kaidou before they noticed each other. A few days later, both of them were competing over who could do more work at the mine. Dobon then confronted the two over the amount of kibi dango rations they acquired. He prepared to discipline them by putting them both into his hippo's mouth. However, Kid and Luffy quickly knocked out Dobon and his hippo. Later, Kid overheard Caribou telling Luffy a rumor about how Kid's arm got cut off, and he interjected to correct the story. Kid and Luffy then argued over which one of them would take down Kaidou. At a later point, Kid somehow escaped from the prisoner mine. Kid later spotted Killer being escorted to the Prisoner Mines. He attempted to attack the escort only to be subdued and recaptured. After returning to the prison, Kid questioned Killer on what Kaidou had done to him and the fate of their crew, but Killer could not answer through his laughter and tears. Queen then subjugated them both to water torture and threatened to keep them submerged until Luffy and Hyogoro die in the Sumo Inferno. When Big Mom was swinging Queen around, Kid and Killer were saved from drowning when Queen crashed into the contraption holding them and knocked them out of the water. As Luffy and his allies from the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance were fighting against the Beasts Pirates, Raizo tossed some keys to Kid and Killer so they could release themselves. Kid sat there and watched as the chaos unfolded. After the prison takeover was complete, Luffy offered Kid an alliance to defeat Kaidou. Kid rejected Luffy's offer, feeling betrayed by Apoo and Hawkins. He then took Killer with him and left the Prisoner Mines to find his other crewmates. On the day of the Fire Festival, the Kid Pirates joined the Straw Hats and Heart Pirates in battling the Beasts Pirates' ships at Tokage Port. According to Kid, he met many ships and samurais on the other port that he found it difficult to set sail. After rescuing Kin'emon's group, Kid and his crew were shocked to hear that Kaidou had formed an alliance with the Big Mom Pirates. Undeterred, Kid, Law, and Luffy destroyed a Beasts Pirates' ship together. While dealing with the last enemy ship, he was surprised to see Jinbe's arrival and learned about the fish-man's joining with the Straw Hats. When the Straw Hats took over the port in front of Onigashima, Kid once again promised to be the one who would defeat Kaidou. After disembarking on Onigashima, the Kid Pirates received Beasts Pirates disguises from Kin'emon. As the alliance began their raid, the Kid Pirates went ahead of the Straw Hats, with Luffy and Zoro following after them. While sneaking through Skull Dome's Live Floor, Kid was surprised when Luffy and Zoro began causing a commotion. At first, he tried to ignore them in order to not bring unwanted attention to himself and his crew, but when he spotted Apoo, Kid decided to start fighting as well. As Apoo was distracted with attacking the two Straw Hats, Kid attacked Apoo for revenge. Apoo quickly recovered and retaliated, forcing Kid back. The situation became more chaotic as Hatcha, one of the Numbers, entered the fray. As Kid, Killer, Luffy, and Zoro ran to the castle, they were able to defend against Apoo's next attack by covering their ears. Inside the castle, Kid and Killer got separated from their allies and found themselves fighting against several Gifters. As the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance began their all-out war on the Beasts Pirates, Kid and Killer were aided by some of the rebels. In preparation for the fight with Kaidou, Kid began using his magnetic powers to collect all the loose metallic objects on his way to the roof. As Kid and Killer reached the third level of the castle, the pile of metal had grown to fill the whole corridor. The two later reached the roof, where they were soon joined by Law, Zoro, and Luffy as they prepared to fight against Kaidou and Big Mom. Kid was briefly surprised when he saw Luffy hurt Kaidou. After Law sent the Red Scabbards and Izou to safety, Kid scoffed at the Surgeon of Death for being subservient to Luffy (since Law only acted after Luffy asked) though Law insisted that he planned to help them either way. When Luffy challenged Kid and Law to a game of chicken in the face of Big Mom's attack, the two initially refused. However, after a small taunt from the Straw Hat captain, the two took up his challenge, with all of them ending up taking the full brunt of the attack. They quickly recovered, and the five members of the Worst Generation took a strike at Kaidou. However, Kaidou transformed into his dragon form and joined Big Mom in the sky, preparing to battle. Kaidou used a roar to unleash wind blades at his opponents. Kid's metal golem armor was struck but Kid remained unharmed. With his metal armor, Kid grabbed Kaidou and slammed him into the roof. Later, Big Mom unleashed a lightning storm at the five Supernovas. Kid managed to block some of her thunderbolts, but was caught off guard by a lightning homie. After Luffy pummeled Kaidou with Gomu Gomu no Kong Gatling, Kid and Killer tried to continue on the offensive, but Kaidou stopped them by creating some twisters. Zoro managed to slice through Kaidou's scales, but Kaidou responded by launching wind blades at the five Supernovas. Kid and the other Supernovas eventually agreed that they had to split up Big Mom and Kaidou somehow, otherwise they had no chance of winning. After surviving a combined attack from both Emperors thanks to Zoro's effort, Kid and Law elaborated a plan to separate Big Mom's special homies from her person. Kid used his powers to form a metal box so Law could teleport Zeus inside, while Zoro and Killer dealt with Prometheus and Napoleon respectively. Once Big Mom was fully disarmed, Kid shot metal spears at Big Mom, but was punched down into the ground by the Emperor in return. He, however, took the opportunity to grip Big Mom's arm with his own prosthetic arm, allowing him to Repel her up in the sky, from where Law managed to hit her with a boulder, throwing her off Onigashima. Once Prometheus and Napoleon left Onigashima to rescue Big Mom, Kid and Killer followed after them to the edge of the island. There, Kid noticed something strange happening to the clouds in the sky. It turned out to be Big Mom creating a new homie, Hera, whose power she tested out on Kid and Killer as she headed back to Onigashima on Prometheus. Kid and Killer tried to avoid the way of Big Mom's Fulgora attack, but were hit and sent flying back inside the Skull Dome, in the third floor of Kaidou's Castle. Kid and Killer survived with few injuries and noticed that Big Mom was searching for them somewhere in the floor below. Kid ran off after her, but was stopped by Basil Hawkins, his former ally and who Kid considered a traitor. Killer told Kid to keep going while he stayed behind to keep Hawkins busy, which Kid complied. Once Kid reached the second floor, he noticed some of Kaidou's grunts alerting each other about Big Mom's location and headed towards the ruckus. Kid eventually found Big Mom as she was about to strike down Nami, Usopp and Tama, using his Punk Gibson technique to block Big Mom's sword and then slam her down to the floor. Kid told the Straw Hats to leave Big Mom to him, as the latter recovered herself from the attack. As Kid fought Big Mom, Bao Huang announced that Luffy had died against Kaidou. Kid professed indifference to Luffy's fate but smiled when Momonosuke confirmed the opposite in an announcement of his own. Shortly after, Law made his way to the site of Kid's fight with Big Mom and proposed a temporary alliance with Kid. During the fight, Kid was thrown off when he received injuries from Killer's attacks on Hawkins. An adult Momonosuke in his dragon form and with Luffy riding him flew into the Skull Dome and crashed through several floors, interrupting the fights there.
