Collun is giving me anxiety everytime he is shown in manga, especially after he talked with shanks. Kid is passionate and I am afraid he would be manipulated to hate the strawhat crew or something bad happens and he blame the strawhat for it and becomes working for the oppenent. I knew one piece might not go that depressing and maybe end up with lighter tone but I am still afraid. Not really sure where this is coming from, but you seem to be worrying over nothing. I don’t really see collun playing a major role in the arc in the anyway (at least for a side character) however shanks already put in a good word for luffy before he left, when collun attacked luffy it was merely to test his strength, his father was a pirate so he already knows that doesn’t automatically they’re bad guys, and the strawhats already seem to have a good reputation on elbaf just through word of mouth from the rapport they built with the giants they’ve met on the course of their journeylike I can’t see the whisperings of some bad dude (who would likely be an enemy in the country) changing the way he sees them. If luffy is the one that ends up freeing loki that’ll certainly put a damper on things, but just the brief interaction they had already shows he looks up to them. Pun intended. Main role I think collun has in this arc is to represent elbaf’s warrior spirit still lives on in him even though most of the youngest generation has been raised to be nonviolent.
