Wow, this chapter hits different. The One Piece 1168 title alone - "Elbaph's Snow" already sets such a melancholic tone, and the content definitely delivers on that emotional weight. Learning about Ida's death on a snowy day really got me. The contrast between Harald and Hajrudin openly crying while Loki suffers in silence behind bars is heartbreaking. It says so much about their different situations and how they each process grief. Loki being imprisoned during his mother's death just adds another layer of tragedy to his character.
But the real bombshell here is the Shanks revelation from fourteen years ago! So he was supposed to receive the Deep Sea Pact but never showed up? That's huge and raises so many questions. What kept him away? Was this around the time he was dealing with Luffy and the Gomu Gomu no Mi? The timeline is getting really interesting.
Harald's storyline took a dark turn I wasn't expecting. Him becoming a Knight of God with power and immortality is wild enough, but then Imu personally ordering him to create the Abyss Circle in Elbaph? And then forcing him to build a giant army for the World Government? This feels like we're finally getting answers about how the government has been manipulating things behind the scenes in Elbaph for years.
The ending with Loki and Jarul reaching the castle has me on the edge of my seat. Things are about to go down, and I can't wait to see what happens next. Oda's really cooking with this arc!
