What a baptism by fire for dragon. No wonder he is so committed to bring the world government down. And I also feel sorry for teach. I know he has done horrible things but I like the fact that we finally see the beginning of his trauma. That is why I like one piece so much. The issue of choice. Dragon witnessed such a horror and he decided to take arms against it. Teach on the other hand became a villain and seeks to become a tyrant. This is why dragon isn't as carefree as his dad and son. Man went from probably having ridiculous expectations placed on him because who his dad was to now shouldering an entire global revolution because he witnessed first hand the atrocities of the people who claim justice.
We see that dragon actually saved kuma and ivankov during the incident, not just shanks/shamrock
Unless I'm mistaken/I've misread, I believe this is the first time gunko has been presented as a "Saint", as I don't think she has a sainthood in the present-day chapters
Unless I read the panel completely wrong, it seems roger already has his illness, as he momentarily falls sick as soon as he enters god valley (he also says "Sorry")
We get another peek into the sheer depravity of the celestial dragons and holy knights - oda really wants us to hate them, which I'm all for. There's no moral ambiguity to their character, they're just pure evil
I'm very curious to see how much this incident shapes teach's motivations, as we've never had any indication that he was part of this cruel event - this is almost likely why he's unable to sleep at night, as he probably had to stay awake for multiple nights during this incident to stay alive.
