I know nika was potentially being set up as far back as skypeia, so this isn't nearly so crazy, but it's still nuts to think that we first met this character in 2018, six years ago, and we didn't even suspect that it wasn't shanks until the reveal of the figarland family last year. I'm wondering, if gunko's powers were of a devil fruit, maybe imu is like a sort of nika equivalent where its (imu) powers are not from a devil fruit, but is the basis for a devil fruit. The castle adventure at the start is pretty fun too!
