Taking this opportunity to flex my observation and mention my ongoing theory: this is only elbaph part 1.
We won't see the heavenly realm canopy of the tree as part of this current battle. After the fight, all the wounded will take a few weeks to recover, which will give york time to produce motherflame. Now that imu's plan has spectacularly backfired, he'll decide to just use uranus on the island reminder that doflamingo hinted to us that the weapon could be fired 5 times before imu "Wins" floods almost all current civilization. This will finally serve as our introduction to an ancient weapon as part of the main straw hat plot, go to the canopy to reach it, luffy will probably punch it hard enough to redirect it off center. Or, elbaph will actually be destroyed and the giants will be forced to spread worldwide, effectively fulfilling harald's dream. I've been theorizing this for a while and am glad to see someone else is thinking the same! There's just too much elbaph content e.g The tree mural, the weird building lilith and bonney found, the heavenly realm at the top of the tree that hasn't been fully explored yet, not to mention that there hasn't really been any resolution to the whole Peaceful new elbaph vs. Traditional violent elbaph question that oda has been so focused on.
My personal theory is that the strawhats are just barely able to win this battle because they end up destroying the abyss portals, sending first sommers and killingham back, and then gunko/imu after luffy stalls them. It'll be clear that they all need a power up so gaban will offer to help train their haki while robin plus lilith research the lore. I also think this will lead to a subplot where colun and the other giant kids want to train in secret to learn self-defense b/c they hated feeling so helpless as hostages and usopp offers to teach them because he loves the traditional version of elbaph.
Meanwhile, imu will send uranus powered by the mother flame to destroy elbaph, resulting in another massive fight that sets the strawhats and world government on an inevitable collision course for the final battle of the series.
