I cant wait for the inevitable gag where gunko tries to control zoro
with her arrows and he still gets lost. Zoro's gag will serve a purpose
in story like usopp in thriller bark and sanji in fishman island.
Usopp's extreme negativity made him invulnerable to perona's ghosts. In
fact those ghosts became negative when they touched him.
If not for that, perona would have low diffed straw hats and the story
would have ended there.
Sanji's gag is his blood loss in fishman island. That played some role
in the story. Focusing on the discrimination and national law preventing
blood transfusion between humans and fishmen.
The arrows get confused and end up targeting her which results in her
powers failing. I always think zoro's inability to follow the path is a
curse from one of his sword, so it could possibly be stronger than
gunko.
That theory never held up, because wado ichimonji isn't a cursed sword,
and zoro originally became a bounty hunter because he got lost and had
to make money while wandering aimlessly.
As in, he already had the gag with his sense of direction back in early
east blue when wado (non-cursed) was his only named blade, before he got
the sandai kitetsu.
Well, why would usopp having depression and anxiety apply when perona's
ghosts have the power to induce near-suicidal levels of depression and
self-loathing?
That doesn't make sense either, but oda did it because it was an amazing
gag that he could apply uniquely to a fight.
No matter how serious it gets, one piece is still fundamentally silly.
