I get the feeling that loki isn't necessarily an 'evil' child, but he's a child who desperately needed love and someone to show him right from wrong, and if he didn't get any of that, of course he's going to lash out at the world. I think the fact that he was holding back tears while beating the villagers and hajrudin and then tries to khs afterward shows he didn't actually want to do these things. But, he felt that doing them would cause others to feel the same pain he felt, but it didn't even make him feel any better; only worse really. The fact that he experiences this conflict/almost a sense of regret, in a way, makes me feel like he's not beyond the point of redemption just yet. But, we'll see how the backstory goes. I think it's possible to both condemn what loki did as wrong, while also feeling bad for his suffering at the same time. Similarly, I think it's possible to feel bad for both loki and hajrudin, as they both experienced pain in entirely different ways. The difference I think, is hajrudin had his mom as an example to show him right from wrong, meanwhile, loki's mom is dead, his caretaker continued the abuse and his dad is pretty much absent. So who really was there to show him right from wrong? Interestingly enough, I get the feeling that adult loki seems to have some inner kindness with the way he treats mosa/shaggy and then he has some standards with how he refuses to join the celestial dragons... So I wonder what would have changed between his childhood self where he was 'incapable' of feeling love, to slightly caring about others in the present now? I guess we will see in the rest of the flashback.
