I like that garling loves his kids in his own fucked-up way. Those who are incapable of love and empathy are evil but not the worst kind. They can't be anything else. The worst kind of evil is the kind that is capable of love and empathy yet refuses it to most of humanity like garling does. Darkness in the absence of light is meaningless
Darkness with some light is the worst kind. So to speak. That is true evil. The kind that goes to work and kills innocent people and casually view most humans as worthless, kills them and view them as scum then goes home to kiss your son goodnight with genuine love that is true evil. Imagine recognizing that you and the people you love deserve safety and joy, while denying such things to others. It's evil, but also irrational. What makes this point even more true and straight up insane is the fact that garling had shanks and shamrock with a regular human, not even a celestial. So this man went to the very people he despises with a passion, had children with one, killed her, then moves on to pour all his heart/soul/love into these children, teaching them to hate one side of them.
