Loki confirmed overpowered at storytelling. Such a good observation. I wonder if harald's dream/ideals lines up with luffy's at all? I think luffy fully resonated with loki's desire to keep the secret about harald's death too. He's the exact same type of person to respect someone else's dream to such an insane extent the same way loki respected his father's. This genuinely shocked me too. As much as I've always loved the luffy trope of "I don't care about the details, I just need to know who upset my friend and to go punch them", it really shows growth from luffy as an emperor that he's locked-in here. Will he remember all the details about loki? Probably not but at least he's trying now.

And shanks was thus taught that these grand titles are just other people's doing, whereas shamrock only ever knew of imu above all and was taught that anyone who even attempts to defy this is not worthy of living. The twins are oda's metaphor for nature vs nurture. Both are ridiculously strong, but their upbringing leads them to two different levels of strength/life/motivations. Shamrock's own potential is hindered as he sees himself unworthy of challenging imu, therefore making him not "Want it" bad enough, compared to shanks who has never once believed anyone to be above anybody else, allowing him to reach his max potential haki wise, as he sees firsthand the freedom the world can be (roger), and the worst it can be (imu).
